National Day for Truth & Reconciliation
This year, September 30, 2024 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This is a day of recognition and remembrance for those who have suffered and a day to honor all the lives that were lost at residential schools. RHS students have had an opportunity to learn about residential schools, reconciliation, and Indigenous ways of life and build upon the importance of Orange Shirt Day, which also takes place on September 30, 2024. As Raymond High School will be closed Monday September 30th we are recognizing both events on Friday September 27, 2024.
All students and staff who wish to participate are welcome to wear an orange shirt on Friday September 27, 2024
Between now and September 30, Raymond High School will organize materials and activities to help students understand the importance of the day—remembering those who were lost, those who survived and those who continue to be impacted by the legacy of residential schools.
