Thanks, Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta!

Have you ever heard of a vibraphone?

A vibraphone is a keyboard instrument made with metal bars with a motorized mechanism to vibrate the sound, making it a beautiful addition to any band. You may have heard it at RHS band concerts in the past, as RHS incorporated it regularly into their Jazz and concert band performances. Sadly, the RHS vibraphone broke in 2019, and its beautiful tone has been greatly missed!

The RHS band was thrilled and grateful to receive news last week that the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta, a public foundation serving the community of Southwestern Alberta, was providing grant funding to replace the RHS vibraphone.

Mr. Ryan Heseltine is excited to have a vibraphone back in the RHS band. "I am so delighted to be receiving this grant," he says. "I am so unbelievably thrilled at the support I have received from our central office in my application process, its great to feel so much support for music in Westwind."

Thank you, Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta, for supporting our programs!
