Professional Development: Dr. Thomas Guskey

The focus of the time teachers will spend with Dr. Guskey is on standards based grading and reporting. It builds on the foundational teacher practice of skillful formative assessment in the classroom. It will give teachers an opportunity to learn together, examine existing practices, thoughtfully plan our way forward, and purposefully incorporate desired practices into our process of continual improvement. We affirm that the skill set of the classroom teacher is the factor with the greatest impact on student learning.

First Day of School

back_to_school.jpg

We are excited to begin another school year at Raymond High School. We’d like to welcome back our grade 11’s and 12’s, and look forward to getting to know our new grade 10’s. The academic year has already begun as our staff has been hard at work getting ready for 2017/18.

The first day of school for students will be on Tuesday, September 5. This will be a full day of school.

All students are to meet in the gym at 8:30 a.m. An assembly, student council activity and pictures will be in the morning and the afternoon will have shortened versions of all classes. A registration package will come home with your student on the first day. Please fill it out, sign it and return it as soon as possible.

Looking forward to another great year.
